There’s probably a German word for it

Re-reading my previous post, it seems as if I am a bit miserable here. I am not. There’s probably a German word for what I feel which is the joy of feeling the responsibilities, burdens, and freedoms of having your own home after living in a room of your in-laws’ flat for two years.

The shelves went together a treat (and by treat I mean over the course of six hours). Despite the fact that the directions clearly gave two cartoon men putting them together, one woman was able to do it just fine. The only hiccough was the backing, which was clearly the bit you needed Mr. Spare cartoon guy for. So our really cheap, hilariously gaudy, limited edition commemorative Billy bookshelves are together. Their busy, weird colourfulness is sort of growing on me.
